The Centers is currently seeking a Special Events Officer to support the strategic fundraising efforts of the Centers Foundation by implementing development activities including special events, volunteer management and stewardship of donors. The special event officer will foster collaborative relationships with development team and volunteers coordinating joint solicitation efforts, and will help coordinate marketing and outreach efforts for the Centers Foundation special events. The position will be based in Little Rock, Arkansas in the Freeway Medical Towers Building.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Responsible for development of donors for special events.
- Develops fundraising committees to assist with special event fundraising efforts.
- Assists with donor stewardship
- Recruits and manages special event volunteers.
- Makes presentations and engages in marketing the organization to the public.
- Creates and submits reports on activities.
- Engages in outreach and community activities.
- Pursue opportunities for ongoing professional growth and advancement; attends seminars, workshops and conferences and may be an active participant on professional committees, task forces and boards, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to plan and coordinate functions and activities; ability to develop and implement long-term plans and programs and to evaluate work accomplishments; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, members, volunteers, directors, and stakeholders; ability to analyze facts and exercise sound judgment in arriving at conclusions; ability to present facts, recommendations. Must be a visionary and a self-starter, a person of the highest moral and ethical integrity both personally and professionally, and respond to change productively. Must also possess computer literacy skills and have experience with Microsoft Office suite.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Public Relations, Marketing or related field, with one or more years experience in development. Must have a passion for helping people succeed.

Must be able to handle responsibility, work independently, establish and maintain good working relationships with stakeholders and co-workers. Ability to read, write and to analyze facts and situations and to develop conclusions and recommendations; Must possess valid driver’s license, be able to travel regionally, and attend after-hours and weekend events when required; ability to forge mutually respectful partnerships with Directors, employees, members, volunteers, and stakeholders. Must be sensitive and responsive to cultural differences of the Centers clients and communities, and possess a conviction about the capacity of people to grow and change. Must be able to pass background checks and drug screenings.
