We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic individual that enjoys a fast-growing, others-first, hands-on, and collaborative working environment. The Payroll Analyst will be responsible for proactively working with the business partners they are assigned of a diverse group of companies to process their individual payroll needs while interfacing with employees, human resources, and benefits teams to ensure that all aspects of payroll are handled timely and accurately. This position will focus on payroll tax management as well as processing payroll.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Includes work focused on the analysis of data to identify and resolve discrepancies before, during, and after the processing of payroll.
- Analyzes payroll processing audit reports for accuracy, analyzing discrepancies and identifying appropriate corrective actions to ensure any discrepancy in records are resolved timely and accurately.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Work with management and stakeholders to establish, develop or optimize procedures due to regulatory change, changes in systems functionality, or implementation of new business requirements.
- Maintain knowledge of compliance requirements and applies to the business environment, making recommendations when deficiencies are identified.
- Answers questions from employees, management, HR, Accounting, Operating Companies, or other stakeholders as needed.
- Communicates with employees in an empathetic manner, working to resolve issues with accuracy and efficiency.
- Responsible for timely and accurate processing, balancing, auditing, and completion for all assigned pay processing groups (pay groups) assigned.
- Researches, analyzes, and resolves tax issues at both the employee and company levels as issues arise.
- Responsible for following defined procedures while continuously analyzing and recommending changes to enhance the identified processes' accuracy and/or efficiency.
- Collaborate with the corporate and operating company human resources, benefits, finance, treasury, and technology teams.
- Responsible for working with technical resources to update and maintain payroll to general ledger mapping and facilitates/troubleshoots issues with account balances as required.
- Responsible for working with system technical resources to support time and payroll calculations for changing business and/or regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrates a high level of commitment in supporting the team in every aspect of the work of the department by assisting the team by training new payroll staff members, mentoring junior team members in compliance, payroll procedures, basic knowledge of payroll and timekeeping systems, and other team development activities as assigned.
- Works collaboratively with management and team members to document payroll team processes and is responsible for maintaining documentation on-going.
- Exhibits a high level of integrity by keeping payroll and financial information strictly confidential.

QUALIFICATIONS – EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- CPP or FPC designation preferred.
- 2+ years of in-house or outsourced payroll experience.
- Multi company/entity environment experience.
- Experience with Workday or similar system preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of payroll principles, tax laws, employee garnishments, regulations, reporting, and procedures.
- Exhibits working knowledge of calculation of all components of payroll gross to net.
- Knowledge of payroll concepts including pre- and post- tax benefits and deductions and reporting.
- Experience with payroll full process input-to-regulatory reporting reconciliations.
- Experience with third-party payroll processing systems such as UKG Pro (UltiPro), Ceridian, or ADP and/or in-house systems such as Peoplesoft, SAP or Workday
- Understands banking concepts in the completion of payroll processing.
- Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll taxes.

- Ability to use Microsoft Office products (w/ above average proficiency in Microsoft Excel).

- Capable of handling multiple tasks with varying priorities, processing high-volume transactional changes, staying focused, and working effectively
