Litigation Paralegal – Woodbridge, NJ
A mid-size corporate law firm with offices across the east coast is growing and looking for a Litigation Paralegal to support two Partners, one Counsel and 3 Associates.
Salary DOE: $85 - 110k base range (exempt) + discretionary bonus + multiple great benefits options + 401k with profit sharing after 1 year of service
Hours: 9am-6pm and expectation is to be in office 3 days/ week in their Woodbridge, NJ office! Candidates must be flexible to go to NYC on occasion for trials as well.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with all aspects of case preparation, including drafting and filing pleadings, motions, affidavits, and other court documents.
- Coordinate discovery processes, including document production, interrogatories, and depositions.
- Review, analyze, and organize documents and data collected during discovery.
- Assist in the preparation of trial exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders.
- Serve as a point of contact for clients, providing updates on case progress and responding to inquiries.
- Coordinate witness interviews, depositions, and trial appearances.
- Prepare and manage witness files, including background research and examination preparation.
- Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, drafting trial briefs, and coordinating trial logistics.
- Attend trials, hearings, and depositions as needed, providing on-site support to attorneys.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, preferably in amid-size law firm setting.
- Proficient in legal research databases (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw), case management software, eDiscovery platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, and court personnel.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and maintain professionalism under pressure.
- Familiarity with state and federal court procedures and rules. Experience with eDiscovery processes.
