Akkodis is seeking an IT System Administrator for a direct hire opportunity working in the Walton, KY area. As a vital member of the local IT Factory Team, incumbent will be responsible for maintaining the local Site infrastructure and managing all aspects of local and corporate infrastructure projects. Reporting directly to the Walton Site’s IT Manager and working under the technical direction of the North American Infrastructure Lead and North American Workplace Expert (Dotted line reporting), this role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual with strong technical skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team to support and enhance the site infrastructure.
Pay/Salary Range: $71,000 - $95,000
Essential Responsibilities
- Ensure all strategic technical recommendations are followed to ensure all site infrastructure meets group, Company and regulatory requirements.

- Leverage exceptional customer service skills and technical expertise to analyze and resolve technology requests.
- Provide prompt and effective technical support while maintaining a high level of customer service.
- Actively contribute to the ServiceNow ticket queue during downtimes, providing support and assistance with resolving tickets. Additionally, serve as an escalation point for technical issues, offering guidance and support to fellow team members as needed.
- Take full responsibility for the management and administration of all local systems by working under the technical guidance of the North American Infrastructure Team to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems, including servers, network devices, and end-user devices.
- Monitor system performance and pro-actively troubleshoot issues to ensure seamless operations.
- Manage servers and other infrastructure components, ensuring their optimal performance and reliability, while also overseeing devices such as PCs, workstations, Multifunction Devices (MFDs), and LANs in a multi-client, multi-vendor environment.
- Develop and maintain standardized installation and upgrade methodologies for consistency and efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand and address their technology needs.
- Manage all aspects of local and corporate IS projects, including planning, coordination, execution, and monitoring to ensure successful implementation within defined timelines and budgetary constraints.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met and stakeholders are kept informed of progress.
- Ensure alignment with the site's business strategy.
- Oversee the seamless integration of software systems with hardware configurations and application systems used at the site.
- Provide technical guidance related to the operating environment to all members of the business staff.
- Work with the North American Workplace Lead to resolve issues with OS/patch or client rollouts and recommend improvements to avoid recurrence.
- Act as the local on-site expert on standard peripheral configuration, including boardroom/meeting PCs, standard printers/plotters, multi-display configurations, video card recommendations, and engineering workstation configurations.
- Collaborate with the North American Infrastructure Lead to resolve failures of backup or server infrastructure.
- Serve as an escalation point for technical issues, providing guidance and support to fellow team members as needed.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business (MIS), or a related field, OR an Associate degree in Computer Science coupled with 8 or more years of directly related IT work experience.
- Proficiency in PC imaging and Windows configuration using Microsoft SCCM/Windows 10.
- Proficiency in administering Windows Server environments.
- Proficiency in managing Vcenter/Vsphere virtualization environments.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, batch, VBScript, Python.
- Experience with backup storage software like Dell Networker and Scalar i3 Tape Library, or similar platforms, is advantageous.
- Knowledge of NetApp or similar storage devices is beneficial.
- Good working knowledge of networking concepts including an understanding of TCPIP and the OSI networking model is required.
- Experience with firewall management is an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively document, communicate, and adhere to processes.
- Aptitude for collaborating across various organizational levels.
- Demonstrated capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
