Director of Lease Administration

The Cato Corporation is seeking an experienced Director of Lease Administration to join our Real Estate Department.
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for legal and administrative activity of Real Estate Department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in production and negotiation of leases and lease-related documents.
- Supervise Manager of Lease Administration and Lease Administrators.
- Coordinate and review input from outside counsel in leases on landlord forms.
- Review and approve estoppels and subordinations.
- Review and approve Oracle data entry and processes.
- Coordinate with Legal Department on lease-related litigation and other legal matters.
- Assist with cross-training of Lease Administrators and other departmental staff.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee special lease administration projects (lease assignments, updates of file systems, etc.)
- Respond to lease-related questions from outside the Real Estate department.
- Assist with on-going maintenance and development of Oracle (or other) lease database system.
- Perform other departmental duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Minimum 5 years experience as paralegal including experience with retail leases and other commercial real estate.
- Certificate from ABA approved paralegal training program.
- Working knowledge of commercial real estate, lease-related legal issues and business organizations.
- Strong negotiating, communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
