Reports to: Physical Therapy Director, Physical Therapy Manager
Schedule/Type: FT - onsite/hourly M-F
Wage: $26-$35 per hour, commensurate with experience/hr, commensurate with experience

Requirements:
Essential Duties:
- Verify client information, reviewing medical history, and confirming treatment purposes.
- Assists with Patient education and training on treatment plans and adaptive equipment.
- Follow treatment plans developed with an occupational therapist, teaching techniques, ensuring activities are performed correctly, and reporting any ineffective treatments.
- Maintain patient occupational therapy records by documenting client progress for the occupational therapist.
- Supports occupational therapists in assessments and patient follow-ups.
- Record billing information for services rendered
- Ensure a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by adhering to standards, procedures, and legal regulations.
- Inventory and manage supplies, placing orders and verifying receipt as needed.
- Monitoring of therapy equipment safety
- Uphold professional standards, policies, and legal requirements to protect the occupational therapy practice.
- Update job knowledge through educational opportunities, professional publications, personal networks, and involvement in professional organizations.
- Enhance the practice's reputation by taking ownership of new tasks and seeking opportunities to add value.
- Comply with the organization's policies, procedures, code of conduct, and mission, values, and vision.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited OTA program. Successful completion with a passing mark on the exam administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a healthcare setting, preferably in an orthopedic or rehabilitation environment.
- Other Requirements:
- Active licensure as a COTA in the State of Colorado required.
- Current BLS or certification within 3 months of hire.
Work Environment:
- This position works in a patient physical therapy gym within an orthopedic practice. The environment is well-lit and ventilated, with adequate space for patient treatment and rehabilitation activities.
Physical Requirements:
- The position requires walking, sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving continuously during working hours. The role involves lifting objects over 50 pounds, pushing wheelchairs, and supporting patients. The employee must remain alert to ensure patient safety.
