Overview: The Clinical Practice Specialty Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides nursing support and coordinates with the analysis of patient needs in clinical setting. Working under close supervision, this role assists with documenting patient information, processing recommendations, and handling various administrative tasks to assist in delivering quality patient care. The LPN applies nursing knowledge to ensure effective patient care and positive outcomes. Specialty Care is office based only and includes the following: Oncology, Allergy, Geriatrics, Pulmonary, Dermatology, Urgent Care, and Endocrinology as well as Cardiology, Neurology, Rheumatology, Occupational Medicine, GYN only, ENT, Vascular, Psychiatry, APPs in Community Care Clinic, Wound Care and Patient Care Clinic settings.

Responsibilities:
Assists healthcare professionals to deliver patient care by preparing patients for examination, obtaining vital signs, documenting medical histories, and updating patient records.
Collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to facilitate communication and coordination of care to improve patient outcomes.
Processes recommendations from healthcare providers, such as medication orders, referrals, and diagnostic tests, to ensure accuracy and timely execution.
Assists with implementing prescribed medical interventions and treatments to ensure strict adherence to protocols and promote patient safety.
Administers medications and treatments, follows established protocols and guidelines to ensure accurate documentation and patient safety.
Protects patient confidentiality by ensuring that health information and records are communicated with consistency with the appropriate standards, laws, and company policies.
Helps to respond to emergencies and safety hazards by utilizing personal protective equipment and hospital precautions to avoid patient harm.
Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Required: Diploma in Practical Nursing
EXPERIENCE: Required: 1 year as a Licensed Practical Nurse with 1 year in the clinical specialty hired as defined by ANCC or national nursing organization.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING: Required: Licensed Practical Nurse LPN licensed in North Carolina or Compact State, BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
