Key Responsibilities of the Litigation Paralegal:
- Manage traditional and e-filing across various courts, ensuring everything is submitted with precision and on time
- Draft, edit, and proofread key legal documents like pleadings, correspondence, and agreements
- Take ownership of complex document production, including Bates stamping and indexing
- Prepare, organize, and format documents for mandatory e-filing, ensuring they meet court standards
- Create Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities with meticulous accuracy
- Coordinate depositions—both local and remote—and arrange court reporters, videographers, and logistics
- Keep case files (both physical and electronic) in perfect order, accessible and up-to-date
- Liaise with court staff and legal teams to resolve issues, manage schedules, and ensure seamless communication
- Provide comprehensive support for trial and deposition preparation, including document review using Relativity
- Contribute to special projects and perform administrative tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly
Qualifications of the Litigation Paralegal:
- Paralegal Certification required, with 3-5 years of experience in a fast-paced law firm environment
- Proven expertise in document management, e-filing, and trial preparation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal document management software like Relativity
- A sharp eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a collaborative team setting
- Exceptional communication skills and a knack for working under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Experience drafting subpoenas and managing discovery processes
- Familiarity with architectural drawings—though not required, it's a plus!
