LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Paralegal with experience in personal injury litigation to support in-house defense counsel attorneys. This role involves preparing discovery demands and responses, motions, orders, and handling other litigation tasks related to auto liability lawsuits. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of litigation procedures and be adept at managing various tasks to support a legal team effectively. This opportunity is fully on-site in Queens, NY with hours of 9AM-5PM (flexible).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Create and organize legal files upon receiving referrals from the claims departments
- Input case data into legal computer systems and maintain accurate records
- Diary due dates for legal documents and ensure timely submission; assign tasks to staff attorneys according to established directives
- Prepare and serve legal documents including answers, motions, opposition papers, letters, orders, subpoenas, and discovery responses as directed
- Obtain extensions of time to respond to summons and complaints as necessary
- Assist in preparing cases for trial, arbitration, and hearings
- Prepare and organize exhibits, and manage the copying and mailing of legal documents for the claims departments
- Edit legal forms and documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in personal injury litigation with a strong grasp of litigation tasks
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in legal document preparation and e-filing
- Familiarity with legal computer systems and data entry
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with attorneys and other legal professionals
Salary Range: $60K-$73K
