We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team at our facility in Pensacola, FL . The PTA will work under the supervision of licensed Physical Therapists to assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans for patients, focusing on improving mobility, relieving pain, and enhancing overall physical function. Responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting patient evaluations and assessments under the direction of a Physical Therapist to gather data on patient's physical and functional status.
- Implement therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities as prescribed in the patient's treatment plan to improve mobility, strength, endurance, and coordination.
- Educate patients and their families on exercises, activities of daily living, and use of assistive devices to support treatment goals and promote optimal recovery.
- Monitor and document patient progress, modifications to treatment plans, and outcomes using electronic medical records (EMR) and documentation software.
- Collaborate with the supervising Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary team members, including physicians, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists, to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Adhere to all ethical and legal standards, as well as facility policies and procedures related to patient care, documentation, and safety.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Florida.
- CPR certification (preferred).
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting, preferably with experience in orthopedics, neurological rehabilitation, or geriatrics, is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
