Our team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Site Safety Manager to join us in ensuring a safe work environment for both our workforce and subcontractors.
Position Summary:
The Site Safety Manager will be responsible for implementing and overseeing all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment in accordance with company, General Contractor, and owner safety policies. This position will require managing safety on one large project at times and overseeing multiple projects at other times. The Site Safety Manager will play a key role in promoting safety awareness, providing training, and ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and other applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Compliance: Verify and fulfill safety policies for the company, General Contractor, and owner, ensuring adherence to all local, state, and federal safety regulations, particularly OSHA standards.
- Site Inspections: Conduct routine and random safety audits, site inspections, and hazard assessments across multiple construction sites.
- Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into any safety incidents or accidents, ensuring that root causes are identified and corrective measures are implemented to prevent reoccurrence.
- Training & Education: Develop and deliver ongoing safety training programs, toolbox talks, and certifications for both employees and subcontractors. Ensure all personnel are properly trained in safety protocols, including confined space, crane operations, excavation, fall protection, and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Project Coordination: Act as the primary safety contact across one or multiple construction projects, coordinating closely with project managers, subcontractors, and the workforce.
- Safety Reporting: Maintain and submit accurate and timely safety reports, documentation, and records, including safety metrics, incident reports, and compliance logs.
- Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with leadership to improve and enhance the company’s safety culture by recommending improvements in safety processes and implementing new safety technologies.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Associate degree in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) or related discipline.
- OR Certification as one of the following:
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
- Construction Health and Safety Technologist (CHST)
- Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST)
- Safety Trained Supervisor – Construction (STS-C)
- Required Certifications:
- Completed OSHA 30-hour training.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of combined experience in the construction and safety field.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in confined space regulations, crane/equipment operations, excavation procedures, fall protection systems, and lockout/tagout protocols.
- Personal Attributes:
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Ability to work independently and across multiple teams and projects.
