Who we’re looking for
TRD is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Vehicle Support Engineer (Contract) to join the team in Salisbury, North Carolina.
This position will require weekend travel, which includes attending a minimum of 7-8 race events each year.
What you’ll be doing
- Provide technical support and assistance to GT customer racing teams competing in events across varying series and circuits.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues when they arise during track sessions to minimize downtime and maintain customer satisfaction.
- Analyze data from onboard vehicle systems to identify areas in need of attention and develop actionable solutions.
- Maintain clear and concise written and verbal communication with customers to provide timely assistance and informative documentation.
- Collaborate with teams during testing sessions to evaluate new components and strategies.
- Maintain detailed records of performance data, technical faults and customer feedback for future reference and analysis.
- Stay up to date on the latest developments in technical regulations, vehicle technologies, and racing strategies to enhance support capabilities.
- Liaise with global partners to build knowledge base and collaborate on development projects.
- Produce vehicle calibrations for non-standard use cases including engine mapping and modifications to driver facing displays/controls.
- Design specialized components for various customer uses.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and or relative work experience.
- Experience interfacing, communicating, and collaborating with customers and suppliers.
- Knowledge and understanding of motorsport vehicle dynamics, suspension kinematics, high performance powertrains, control systems, and data acquisition.
- Ability to communicate clearly and accurately in verbal and written form.
Added bonus if you have
- 3+ years of motorsports experience.
- Proficiency in data analysis and calibration tools such as Magnetti Marelli Wintax/Sysma, Bosch RaceCon/RaceABS, BF1 DigiTyre, Cosworth Pi Toolbox, MoTeC I2, HH Timing, and MATLAB.
- Experience with CAD software such as Solidworks.
