We are currently seeking candidates to fill a Senior Manufacturing Engineer role. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer develops, evaluates, and improves industrial manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
What will you do in this role?
- Responsible for process optimization and troubleshooting with employee safety at the forefront.
- Responsible for process documentation and standard work. Collaborate with Process Improvement (Beta) team to implement world class manufacturing processes and standards.
- Uses Lean Manufacturing skills to support smooth, even flow in manufacturing and results in products that conform to customer requirements.
- Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions. Coordinate with manufacturing to minimize production issues and costs while ensuring products meet quality standards. Design, develop and maintain manufacturing routes to maximize effectiveness, efficiency, and space.
- Confers with vendors to determine specifications of products and arrange equipment, material purchase, and parts.
- Communicates manufacturing capabilities, capacity, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes.
- Utilizes a high level of applied statistics in work. Able to design, execute and analyze complex trials using Design of Experiments (DOE) for laboratory and process applications. Utilizes, correlation, ANOVA and regression analysis to establish relationships, identify opportunities, determine root causes and predict effective corrective actions. Able to read the statistical reports of others and make recommendations for next steps. Able to design and execute a Gage R&R study.
- High level of computer literacy to support data analytics. Must be able to create complex, custom queries involving multiple SQL databases to create datasets for problem solving. Must be capable of using sophisticated statistical software to run statistical analysis such as Minitab, R, Statistical and\or Excel Data Analysis ToolPak. Asks intuitive questions of data to uncover new relationships.
- Evaluates products based on specifications and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot processes in response to process upsets and customer complaints. Works with manufacturing and quality to complete root cause analysis and corrective actions on nonconforming material and customer complaints/returns.

- Layout
- Time Studies
- Lead / participate in Kaizen events focused on process improvement and waste reduction.
- Collaborate with new products to develop production level processes for manufacturing
What does it take to be successful in this role?
- Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of experience preferred.
- Possesses solid working knowledge of manufacturing.
- May provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to team members.
