A high volume gastroenterology procedural center in Annandale, VA is looking for a seasoned Practice Administrator. The ideal candidate will have had administrative leadership experience in a hospital or surgical center setting.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides leadership in business planning and improvement of administrative processes
- Develops budgets, monitors practice expenses, and performs daily financial management tasks.
- Oversees and manages the billing and collection process within the center
- Recruits, hires, trains and supervises office administrative staff
- Monitors health and patient care practices for compliance in health regulations
- Acts as a liaison with outside agencies such as government bodies and insurance companies
- Creates and implements healthcare service delivery improvement plans
- Documents processes and maintains records
- Keeps informed of trends in practice administration and healthcare regulations
- Performs other administrative tasks as required
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business or related degree
- Three (3)+ years experience as an office manager in a healthcare setting
- Thorough knowledge of medical terminology, required.
- Thorough knowledge of Quickbooks is required
- Basic knowledge of medical billing coding, including CPT and ICD-10 coding, required
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Specialty knowledge of systems relating to job function
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations for this position; general understanding of HIPAA guidelines
