Job Description- Paraplanner
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Paraplanner to join our dynamic team for this in office position. In this role, you will provide crucial technical support to our financial advisors, manage client relationships, and contribute to the development of comprehensive financial plans.
Principal responsibilities
· Prepare for client meetings
· Attend and take notes in client meetings
· Review statements and questionnaires provided by clients
· Input updated values into appropriate planning software and apply applicable strategies for specific client needs
· Complete necessary paperwork for account openings and money movements
· Interview clients about their attitudes, financial constraints, and goals
· Create follow up correspondence for advisors after meetings
· Build client relationships with guidance of Lead Advisor
· Help onboard new clients
· Be able to help a Lead Advisor with building financial plans and tax planning strategies
· Organize data and complete open tasks
· Identify problem areas and summarize for the advisor
· Calculate projections and tax strategies
· Maintain up-to-date information on model portfolio performance
· Regular discussions and calls with GGM’s CIO regarding financial markets & GGM Models
· Collaborate with Client Service Associates on routine client requests and service
· Read trade journals, books, and other publications
· Train and mentor interns
Service clients
· Answer client phone calls and related client questions (e.g. online access and basic questions)
· Respond to client questions and concerns promptly
· Schedule and plan client meetings using CRM system
· Able to call third party providers to answer client questions
· Assist advisor in transitioning new client assets
Required knowledge/skills/competencies
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field
· CFP® (Certified Financial Planner) certification (Preferred) or progress towards certification
· 2-5 years of experience in the financial services industry
· Experience with CRM systems and financial planning tools such as eMoney Advisor
· Excellent attention to detail, organizational and multitasking skills
· Strong written and verbal communication abilities
· Good understanding of financial planning concepts and terminology
· Knowledge of mutual fund, ETF, stock, bond, insurance, and annuity products
· Basic knowledge of GGM investment models, philosophy, benchmarks and strategies
· Proficiency with computer programs, including Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel and PowerPoint).
