Position Summary:
The Compensation Manager is a crucial member of the compensation team in the design, execution, and administration of compensation programs. The Compensation Manager contributes to, leads, and advises on day-to-day compensation activities. The Compensation Manager also works in tandem with the Compensation Director on the long-term priorities of the department.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Leads the design and execution of our compensation plans including base pay administration, annual cash bonuses and long-term incentive programs.
- Advises and assists team members with maintenance of HRIS (Ceridian Dayforce) Compensation module including design of compensation programs, adding and removing jobs, maintaining bonus programs, auditing for calculation and reporting accuracy, and advising compensation leadership on issues.
- Uses internal and external data points, trends, and benchmarks to make recommendations regarding the annual merit process.
- Support HR Business Partners and business leaders in day-to-day requests and advises other team members on proper responses to these requests.
- Completes market job pricing and makes recommendations of pay ranges for jobs.
- Assists the Compensation Director with maintaining job and salary structures.
- Configures job and job assignments in HRIS system.
- Ensures timely and accurate execution of compensation plans and programs including base pay and merit administration, cash bonus plans, and long-term incentive plans.
- Responsible for verifying and confirming accuracy of various compensation/total rewards team members’ work.
- Accountable for yearly and regular updates of policy documentation.
- Ensures accurate administration of the annual merit increase and bonus incentive processes including before and after audits of HR files, payroll data verification of increases & bonus payments, among other verification methods.
- Audits for legal compliance of minimum wage and exempt thresholds across all state, city, and municipalities.
- Partners with legal team to assess jobs and their respective duties to determine FLSA classification.
- Conduct analysis to support decisions related to compensation.
- Assist in merger and acquisition activity as it relates to compensation and benefit plans.
- Aids with gathering of data for external audit requests.
- Evaluate and revise internal processes to increase compensation team efficiency.
- Ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed by other departments and leadership.
- Other projects or requests as directed.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, finance, data analytics, or related major.
- Minimum of 5 years work experience in the Compensation field.
- Experience with design and implementation of base salary structures, variable pay plans, and long-term incentive programs.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office with expert Excel skills including, but not limited to formulas such as v/xlookup, “if” functions, charts, graphs, pivot tables.
- Expert analytical skills with ability to quickly identify data trends and inconsistencies.
- Ability to quickly summarize large amounts of data into formats that are easy to understand and digest by executive leaders.
- Unquestionable capability of working with sensitive data and ability to maintain confidentiality, credibility, and trust.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills with a commitment to accuracy and detail.
- Ability to think proactively, identify problems and propose solutions, and exhibits a high-level of self-initiative.
- Capacity to influence and develop successful cross-functional business relationships.
- Understanding of customer needs and flexibility to assist in all areas of the HR Department as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in business, finance, or related field.
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP).
- Experience with Ceridian Dayforce HRIS
- Knowledge of SQL, Tableau, Power BI

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position in an office environment 80% of the time.
- Will frequently move about inside the office to access files, office machinery, etc.
