My client a global interior design firm specialize in creating dynamic, functional, and aesthetically engaging spaces across various sectors. As part of their team, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of a diverse range of high-profile projects. You will collaborate closely with a team of experienced designers and are expected to take a proactive, hands-on approach to your work, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and with a high degree of organization.
Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate will possess strong conceptual design skills with a blend of interior architecture and FF&E expertise. Experience in the multi-family and hospitality sectors is highly desirable. You should be comfortable working independently at times and have exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to manage projects from concept through completion. Additional experience in commercial and/or residential design is preferred.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- 4+ years of post-graduate experience in the design industry.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in developing conceptual designs, including the creation of concept and mood boards, and translating these into full schematic design packages.
- Strong skills in Photoshop, InDesign, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Enscape rendering. Familiarity with Revit is a plus.
- Expertise in selecting and specifying FF&E for large-scale projects.
- Proven ability to produce Design Development drawings, either individually or as part of a team.
- Experience working through all stages of a project, from initial concept to final completion.
- Competence in reviewing shop drawings and trade submittals.
- Strong leadership qualities, with a desire to take ownership of projects and mentor junior team members.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to work quickly and efficiently.
- Open to feedback, with excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and visual).
- Detail-oriented and confident in delivering client presentations and leading meetings.
Responsibilities:
- Work precisely according to written or verbal project briefs.
- Develop creative and functional concepts, including space planning, detailed design, material selection, and FF&E specification.
- Contribute to all project stages, from initial concept through to detailed documentation.
- Produce detailed drawings and specifications aligned with approved design concepts.
- Attend client meetings and presentations, providing clear and compelling communication of design ideas.
- Coordinate with architects, lighting designers, and other consultants to ensure seamless project execution.
