You will need to be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Working with donated placentas requires excellent attention to detail, the ability to work as a team under tight timelines, and self-motivation. Placenta donation provides tissue-based products for wound coverings, post-surgery reduction of scarring, diabetic ulcers, sports medicine, ophthalmology, spine, and dental procedures.
Numerous types of backgrounds can be successful in this role. Some examples include a nursing background (CNA, LPN), Science graduates, tissue banking experience, or experience in a CLIA lab. What you must bring is a friendly and confident bedside manner along with a highly-motivated personality.
- Label, package, and ship tissue and lab specimens.
- Situational awareness and communication skills.
- Review records and forms for completion and accuracy.
- Record temperatures and maintain records.
- Maintain and clean laboratory equipment.
- Accurately receive and accept various critical supplies for tissue banking operations.
