Site Construction Manager (Utility Scale Solar)
Description:
The Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of ground mount solar projects across the US. They will work with the President and Operations Manager to ensure projects are completed in a safe and quality workmanlike manner and delivered on-time and on budget.
Main Responsibilities:
· Oversee and maintain the project’s Safety, Quality and Efficiency.
· Maintain project budgets and provide regular snapshots and updates to senior management.
· Continually monitor project schedule and provide status updates to senior management regularly.
· Ensure deliverables are completed in a thorough time frame set forth by the contract.
· Maintain Client satisfaction through project updates and clear communication.
Other Responsibilities:
Pre-Construction
· Study project documents including contract, scope of work, drawings, and specifications. Assess risks and constraints for the project.
· Manage the project from Preconstruction handoff to Final Completion.
· Understand the local AHJ requirements and applicable permits.
· Manage RFI’s with Client and engineer after project handoff.
· Design construction schedule with project target milestones and field need dates from the contract construction schedule.
· Review drawings and perform product take offs for use for procurement.
· Populate Project Tools to prepare for project kickoff (Procore Job creation, directory, budget/man hours/quantities, drawings, construction schedule, Project Matrix, Material Inventory Trackers).
· Work with Operations Manager to ensure Procore JHA’s and Inspections are project specific.
· Work with Operations Manager and Safety provider to review site specific safety plan and JHA’s.
· Populate the equipment schedule from construction schedule task flow.
· Procure quotes from vendors for infrastructure, equipment and testing.
· Manage submittals process with client engineering.
· Issue Commitments to subcontractors and material vendors.
· Create project AIA billings form per contract SOV.
· Work with Operations Manager in the project planning and mobilization.
· Organize with the Operations Manager the project kickoff meeting to communicate the project build plan, responsibility matrix and mobilization to project.
Construction
· Execute the tasks detailed in the Project Matrix. Update weekly for Team.
· Develop project strategies, that include contract summary, construction schedule, Project Matrix, procurement, budget/man hours, equipment tracking, document control & Client deliverables.
· Work within contract requirements to provide deliverables to the Client. Conduct weekly project update calls with Clients. Take detailed notes and assign responsibility for open items.
· Conduct weekly internal project calls with Field Team. Take detailed notes and assign responsibility for open items.
· Track construction schedule and update weekly. Advise team on constraints and delays.
· Oversee the project on Procore and Client preferred platform.
· Oversee the subcontractor management (Mobilization, SOW execution, QAQC, safety and closeout with Field Team).
· Monitor QA/QC program and review project photos and inspection reports to ensure quality standards and contract specific requirements are maintained.
· Manage course of construction RFI’s.
· Manage Commitments in Procore.
· Manage Direct Costs weekly.
· Update budget weekly, take snapshots bi-weekly.
· Present state of project to leadership in bi-weekly project Review meeting.
· Manage project change orders from start to finish.
· Manage client billings per contract structure.
· Compile QAQC materials for handover. Review for compliance.
· Prepare for project closeout and commissioning. Populate Closeout Matrix and Schedule.
Project Closeout
· Coordinate with Utility and Client for project defined dates of energization and testing.
· Coordinate with Commissioning Team to schedule commissioning activities including energization and witness testing.
· Conduct Project Closeout Meeting with Field Team key personnel and Commissioning team.
· Manage project specific closeout procedures and expectations.
· Compile project handover documentation. Review for project specification for accuracy.
· Coordinate with Operations Manager demobilization activities and logistics.
Requirements

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
