Product Design Engineering Manager
Essential Functions
Candidate will need to have experience managing an Engineering/Design Department
Follow / Implement design practices and processes of an integrated Engineering system.
Engaging individual, Quality driven, customer focused!
Develop, apply and maintain requirements and standards for development and manufacturing products.
Support concurrent engineering efforts by participating in design development projects.
Design and implement methods for process control, process improvement, testing, and inspection.
Qualifications:
- Mechanical Engineering Degree or Equivalent
- R&D leader investigating the building materials market to help develop new and innovative products
- Design, engineer, innovate and develop profiles for systems that can be efficiently fabricated by our valued customers that meet or exceed the market needs.
- Manage a Staff of Design Engineers and Support Staff including product Testing and certification
- Support various functions of the business including Manufacturing, Quality, Sales & Marketing, and Technical Services
- Having knowledge of the U.S. Window and Door Market/Certifications - FIGA/ASTM & NFRC is a major plus
Skills
- Demonstrate the ability to multi-task many projects simultaneously
- Excellent communicator and can lead Team activities
- Project Management skills
- Product presentation skills
- Knowledge of General Engineering protocol & procedures as well as various other administrative skills.
- Be able to travel without restrictions to visit customers and prospects
- Perform Structural Calculations on components, sub-assemblies and assemblies
- Use of Design Software – AutoCAD, Solid Works, 3D Modeling

Education:
Experience:
- Mechanical engineering: 3 years (Required)
- Robotics: 3 years (Preferred)
- Automation: 3 years (Preferred)

Cliff notes for this role:
- Designing products, not tooling. They do have a tooling design department, but this position is not that.
- Degreed engineer. Develop and design from concept to completion,
- Must have management experience.
- Strong preference for architectural or building products.
- Prefer windows and doors system experience, but other building products related experience could work.

- Bonus max payout target is 7.5%, up to 15%.
