HR CONTROLLER/ANALYST
Based in our NYC Corporate Office (not remote)
Purpose:
Generate insights through data analysis that allow decision making. Monitoring HR KPIs, active participation in budget creation and personnel expense controller. Analysis of the P&L impact on key projects.
Key responsibilities:
- Responsible for generating proposals for HR budgeting.
- In collaboration with HR Department prepare and control and forecast store hours budgets.
- Provide assistance and back up to line manager by getting involved in developing strategy.
- Work with designated budgets and ensure comprehensive cost control initiatives are in place.
- Provide insightful feedback on the P&L results, including actual variance explanations, action plans and updated forecasts.
- Prepare accruals to ensure proper P&L control.
- Create ad hoc reports and analysis for stakeholders
- Take ownership of headcount control as well as regular variance analysis and forecasts.
- Monitor minimum wages and FLSA regulations ensure that the compensation system is in compliance with all principles and market needs.
- Analyzing HR KPI results (e.g. productivity, turnover, absenteeism, overtime, holiday planning, etc.).
- Proactive development of our HR management reporting.
- Ensure HR control systems are kept up to date.
- Optimization of HR and Controlling related processes.
- Update of company dashboards.
- Prepares pre-new store opening analysis.
- Monitors HR databases.
- Constantly analyze data and look for new ways to positively impact the business.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand company strategy and keep HR reporting aligned with business needs.
Personal profile:
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Experience in processing payroll will be a plus
- Masters' degree in Human Resources or Finance
- Proficient in MsExcel (including macros)
- Good knowledge of other MsOffice tools
- Good knowledge of PowerBi
- Able to clearly communicate ideas and information to senior members of the head office team and to motivate, influence and negotiate
- Initiative, flexibility and problem-solving ability
- Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities; able to organize, multi-task and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
- Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy required; a thirst for learning and success
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Goal oriented, able to handle pressure and react quickly to situations making timely decisions in challenging conditions / circumstances
- Self-driven, owner of their development, able to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Broader knowledge of other areas in Human Resources would be an advantage
Annual compensation range: $122,000 - $162,000 + discretionary annual bonus
