Dynamic mid-sized law firm is seeking a seasoned Trusts and Estates Attorney with at least 7 years of experience in estate planning, estate administration, and probate. A deep understanding of New York and federal estate and gift tax laws, and experience working with clients to develop and implement complex estate plans is required. This role requires a high degree of autonomy, strong client-facing skills, and the ability to handle multiple matters simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive estate planning services, including drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents; Advise clients on tax-efficient strategies to transfer wealth and minimize estate and gift tax liability; Manage estate administration matters, including probate proceedings, trust administration, and distribution of assets; Work closely with executors, trustees, and beneficiaries to ensure the efficient administration of estates and trusts.
In addition this role will manage sophisticated estate and tax planning for high-net-worth individuals, including charitable planning, family limited partnerships, and business succession planning; Assist in the preparation of federal and state estate tax returns, gift tax returns, and fiduciary income tax returns and collaborate with colleagues in the firm’s tax, real estate, and corporate departments on multi-disciplinary matters.
A minimum 7 years of experience in estate planning and estate administration is required; Expertise in drafting complex estate planning documents, including irrevocable and revocable trusts, GRATs, and QPRT and strong knowledge of federal and New York estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax laws. Compensation includes salary (205K-230K++) plus bonus and outstanding benefits package. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships required.
