Trustpoint.One is working with a corporate client seeking a Senior Paralegal to join their team in Fremont, CA on a long-term, temporary basis. Candidates MUST be able to commute onsite to Fremont on a daily basis.
Responsibilities of the Paralegal
- Support internal and external litigation counsel in all stages of litigation with little supervision.
- Assist with the factual development and analysis of cases, including communication with relevant business people, gathering and reviewing documents, and creating timelines.
- Manage the discovery process, including the collection, retention, and production of documents, drafting written responses to discovery, and setting up and maintaining document review platforms.
- Draft basic legal documents, including settlement agreements, document retention notices, and response letters.
- Communicate with opposing parties and negotiate settlements.
- Maintain the litigation calendar and monitor case dockets making sure to apprise colleagues of upcoming deadlines.
Requirements of the Paralegal
- 5+ years of relevant experience handing litigation matters.
- Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certification preferred or equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability.
- In-house and/or top-tier law firm experience preferred.
- Understanding of litigation motion practice, discovery, arbitration, trial, and appellate procedures.
- Strong organizational, analytical, fact-finding, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of matters, work efficiently and proactively, take initiative, prioritize workflow, meet demanding deadlines, and oversee multi-dimensional projects in a fast-paced environment.
