Our client, a large ecommerce marketplace, is looking for a UX Researcher in San Jose, San Francisco, Seattle, or LA for an ongoing contract working on their Financial Services team. The position requires a strong background in qualitative research, foundational strategy, and survey methodologies and will collaborate closely with design, product, and engineering teams to drive user-centered insights into our product development process. As a key member of their research team, you will work with other Researchers to scope, plan, execute, and deliver impactful research projects that inform and inspire our product strategy.
This is a hybrid contract and requires 2-3 days/week onsite in San Jose, San Francisco, Seattle, or LA.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with design, product, and engineering teams to identify research needs and opportunities that align with business and user goals.
- Plan and conduct a variety of research methods, including in-depth interviews, surveys, usability testing, ethnographic studies, and other qualitative approaches.
- Develop research plans that clearly outline objectives, methodologies, timelines, and key deliverables.
- Synthesize research findings into actionable insights and present them to cross-functional teams in a compelling and engaging manner.
- Work closely with product and design teams to ensure that user insights are integrated into the product development process and that research outcomes are acted upon.
- Partner with other Researchers to contribute to the development of the overall research strategy and prioritize projects based on business and user needs.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of research processes and methods, making improvements as needed to optimize research impact.
- Advocate for user-centered design principles and the value of research across the organization.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in UX research, preferably within the technology sector.
- -Strong expertise in qualitative research methodologies, including interviews, contextual inquiry, and ethnographic studies.
- Experience with survey design, analysis, and foundational research strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and engineers.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
- Proven track record of translating research insights into actionable product improvements.
- Familiarity with UX research tools such as UserTesting, Lookback, Optimal Workshop, or similar platforms.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Passion for understanding user behavior and advocating for user needs throughout the product development lifecycle.
