We are partnering with an established Raleigh-based commercial contracting firm that has grown its presence in the Triangle over the last 50+ years.
This contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to manage and oversee commercial construction projects in the Triangle. As a Commercial Superintendent, you will plan, direct, and coordinate all aspects of Raleigh area commercial construction projects including budgeting, scheduling, permitting, inspections, quality control, safety, subcontractor oversight, and client relations.
Responsibilities:
· Oversee and manage day-to-day field operations including trade contractor coordination, work schedules, equipment/material deliveries and quality control
· Mentor junior Superintendents on-site
· Inspect job sites daily to monitor safety, quality, productivity, schedule and compliance
· Direct all construction activities to meet scope, budget, schedule and quality requirements
· Coordinate daily construction activities with trade foremen and contractors
· Identify construction issues early and develop solutions to mitigate cost/schedule impacts
· Ensure construction best practices for quality, safety, sustainability and cost controls
· Complete daily field reports summarizing manpower metrics, daily progress and activity
· Conduct weekly owner, trade contractor, and internal coordination meetings
· Perform substantial and final completion walkthroughs to turnover project
· Assist preconstruction team in preparing for projects in the pipeline
Requirements:
· 5+ years experience in commercial construction management
· In-depth knowledge of building materials, methods, equipment and regulations
· Ability to read architectural, structural and MEP drawings and specifications
· Experience on life sciences, higher education, or corporate office projects (a plus)
· Experience on ground up projects (a plus)
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Strong leadership, organizational, budgeting and client relations skills
· OSHA 30 certification preferred
