Japanese company in Orland, FL seeks an experienced HR Manager with Japanese language skills.
Position Title: Bi-lingual Manager of HR
Reports to: General Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
Work hours: M-F 8:30am-5:30pm
Work Location: Orlando. FL *On-site job. No remote work flexibility

JOB SUMMARY:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance with the Federal, State and local regulations.
• Creates recruitment plans, recruits, interviews, tests, and assist the selection of employees in conjunction with the hiring manager and General Manager to fill vacant positions.
• Supervises all HR activities, communications, reports, requests and documents created and received by the team
• Manager new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
• Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
• Manages the leave administration process including ADA, FMLA and STD/LTD
• Coordinates management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
• Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues, and conduct investigation, prepare reports, and recommend best practice.
• Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
• Administers, develops and implements performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
• Administers salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within organization.
• Manage benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, retirement (401K) plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistant program.
• Assists annual audit/5500 for 401K and health insurance.
• Administers ACA to be in compliance, and file 1095-C annually.
• Prepares EEO-1 reports and file it annually
• Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier.
• Administers worker’s compensation program
• Conducts wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate.
• Process and audit weekly and special payrolls for 250+ employees within strict deadlines and accuracy requirements. This includes data entry, calculation (including non-standard and off-cycle payments), audit, tracking of employee time and attendance records, payments in accordance with payroll calendar, and resolution of any problems that arise during the payroll process
• Prepares budget for human resources operations.
• Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
• Prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.
• Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations
• Develop training programs for employees including managers and executives..
• Update the Employee Handbook annually and maintain it.
• Maintain the Open Door/Dispute Resolution policy.
• Assist with the purchase of HR Database System.
• Initiate, organize and manage the international internship program.
• Manage immigration issues at the request of President.
• Support Operations as needed to ensure that the Company goals are met.
• Keep abreast of employment laws as they apply to the USA and Florida.
• Plans company functions and including holiday events
• Processes HR related invoices and payment.
• Coordinates and manage E-2 VISA process for candidates from Japan
• Updating and designing the overall HR system, including aspects such as performance evaluation, salary and promotion structure, and updating job descriptions.
• Other projects as assigned.

• Assist the corporate counselor by providing necessary information at litigation.
• Direct, motivate and assist the team to support the internal customers.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor Degree (B.S. or B.A.)
• PHR or SHRM-CP Certification required, SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification preferred
• Five years of Human Resource experience
• Proficient with Microsoft Office software; Word, Excel and Outlook
• Bi-lingual in Japanese required
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience with Kronos/UKG, preferred
• HR experience in a retail & Restaurant business, preferred
• Able to effectively communicate verbally in English with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company.
• Able to work effectively and relates well with others Including superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company. The employee exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others and works, to maintain constructive working relationships.
• Able to apply ratios, percentages, fractions and proportions to practical situations. Basic arithmetic which includes subtraction, addition, division, multiplication and counting of items. The employee must also be able to analyze and solve problems
• Able to interpret and analyze a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or diagrams.
