Job Description
A Stonelake Associate plays an active role in all aspects of the acquisition and asset management of industrial and multifamily real estate. This entrepreneurial role will directly contribute to investment underwriting, due diligence, buy-hold analyses, market research reports, broker correspondence, and the exploration of new markets. Alongside the Dallas and Austin investment team, the Associate will learn the Stonelake approach to creating real estate value while exemplifying the highest levels of integrity and ethics.
Essential Functions
- Perform valuation analyses and build financial models for prospective investment opportunities
- Draft investment committee presentation materials for the acquisition and disposition of assets
- Support the extensive due diligence process, including travelling to site visits, meeting with property management, and developing the business plans for each transaction
- Monitor the performance of competing properties and sub-market dynamics
- Provide ongoing asset management by performing periodic property site inspections to review property operational integrity, overseeing tenant improvement projects, and preparing ad-hoc reports
- Lead correspondence with local brokers on new leases and lease renewals
- Develop effective lines of communication with colleagues and third parties
- Perform in-depth market research of Sunbelt MSAs
Qualifications
- 2-4 years of work experience, preferably in commercial real estate, private equity, or investment banking
- College degree; finance, economics, or other quantitative field preferred
- Work experience requiring analytical and strong communication skills
- Track record of thriving in a fast-paced, intense work environment
