Senior Network Engineer
Direct Hire Full-Time Role
Salary Range: $156,000 - $170,000 per year
Location: Redwood City, CA - Onsite Role
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced network engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining local and cloud networks. You will ensure our network infrastructure is secure, reliable, and available to users while meeting organizational needs and industry standards. You will act as a key member of our IT team, working on designing, maintaining, and expanding a robust infrastructure that meets the needs of today and is scalable for the future.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and configure network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Maintain, manage, and administer our Azure SD-WAN environment.
- Monitor network performance and capacity, diagnosing and resolving system issues.
- Ensure infrastructure resiliency, including redundancy, configuration backups, DR, and business continuity.
- Manage network access control and security policies to ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards.
- Implement network and server security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and anti-malware solutions.
- Design and build new network architecture in collaboration with security teams to meet security requirements and standards.
- Manage and troubleshoot network hardware and software, including modems, switches, routers, and APs.
- Evaluate and recommend new hardware and software technologies to improve network performance and capabilities.
- Work with the security team to design, build, manage, and troubleshoot Zscaler ZTNA integration with our networking environment.
- Work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment to identify future company growth and needs, recommend scalable solutions, and help formulate a technical roadmap for the company.
- Document system configurations, processes, and procedures to maintain system integrity and support knowledge transfer.
- Provide escalated technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting network-related issues and providing guidance on best practices and policies.
- Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to ensure alignment of IT solutions with organizational objectives and standards.
- Manage projects within budget requirements.
- Ensure network and server infrastructure meets compliance requirements, including SOX audits and GxP system qualification, validation, and risk assessments.
- Help teams with other non-networking projects and tasks and troubleshoot as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- 8-10 years of relevant industry experience.
- Cisco CCIE Expert certification
- Experience designing and building complex network environments.
- Expertise with Azure SD-WAN architecture.
- Experience with Zscaler ZTNA configurations
- Expertise with Cisco Meraki firewall, switch, and WAP systems.
- Broad experience in managing and implementing network segmentation and access control across on-prem and cloud networks
Preferred Qualifications:
- Azure Solutions Architect certification
- Zabbix Certified Professional (ZCP) certification
- Project management experience, preferably with tools such as Smartsheet and Asana.
- Experience with Linux and Windows systems
- Management experience and building out a networking team
- Industry experience in pharmaceutical/biotech
