The Technical Field Advisor is responsible for the on-site management and oversight of small to large turnkey steam outages. In this role the Technical Field Advisor will provide overall project team leadership to ensure the efficient and safe completion of projects.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead personnel in the disassembly and reassembly of turbines on-site.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by completing outages efficiently and within budget.
- Develop a comprehensive project plan and present it during the Project Readiness Review before mobilization.
- Address and resolve any contract disputes with customers.
- Participate in Technical Sales Visits as needed.
- Conduct Outage Planning Visits and provide all necessary deliverables.
- Review the scope of work bid letter for preparation
- Review pre-planning activities with the outage team. IE safety, equipment needs, tooling requirements, etc
- Review the set-up crew and tooling arrival schedule with the Project Coordinator (PC) and Foremen.
- Finalize the project schedule after thorough review.
- Supervise the setup tasks of the Project Coordinator.
- Develop worklists for day and/or night shifts.
- Build a strong relationship with the customer while discussing and finalizing the outage work scope.
- Lead the Project Readiness Review meeting.
- Proactively identify opportunities for cost reduction during both planning and execution phases.
- Conduct pre-outage meeting with the customer and PC.
- Review log book for work performed on previous shift.
- Review all photos taken on previous shift.
- Update detailed 48 hour work ahead list.
- Review and update Project schedule.
- Generate and publish Daily Report.
- Provide technical guidance to the Supervisor and PC.
- Review technical data for final report.
- Prepare Qualification Statement Update
- Make sure all expense reports have been submitted for the team
- Complete the Final Report and turn into the office within 14 business days of the last labor date
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineer or related field (preferred)
- 3+ years of experience with small and large turnkey steam outages
- Able to understand and efficiently communicate technical, commercial and contractual issues with the customer
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products
- Able to travel to customer sites as needed
- Experience with project cost collection and analysis
