The Specialized Recruiting group is hiring a Commercial Estimator for two different commercial GC clients of ours in the Charlotte area. Please see the full job description below:
Overview:
The Commercial Estimator will review project plans and specifications to meet our customers’ expectations by acquiring competitive pricing for the entire scope of work. In this Senior level role, you will provide mentorship to the estimating and preconstruction team and be relied on for both accuracy and efficiency in the estimating process.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Be a vocal leader and provide senior level mentorship and guidance to the estimating team based on experience and delivering results
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Review / download all customer plans via builder portals
- Inspect plans and specifications of projects
- Generate pricing templates and builder format pricing sheets
- Create/ maintain a structured data filling format
- Achieve expectations on bid volume and hit rates
- Work with back office to create efficiencies with material orders and labor payables
- Verify all builder contract documents for approval
- Create templates
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
- 5+ years of commercial framing/drywall estimating experience
- Estimating experience spanning across multiple building types
- Extreme knowledge in reading schematics & blueprints
- Extreme knowledge of building components and functions
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations
- Multi-Family experience a plus
- Paint Estimating experience a plus
- Proficient with estimating software and cost software preferred but not required (Plan Swift and SAGE)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

- Typical hours of operation 7:00 am – 4:00 pm / Monday - Friday
