PEER Consultants is seeking Environmental Field Technicians to join our team in a fast paced, dynamic Civil/Environmental Engineering environment. This position will provide field technician services for projects across all PEER disciplines, primarily with water/wastewater and transportation clients throughout the Boston, MA region.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
· Provide assistance to engineers with:
o Water/Wastewater field investigations including stormwater quality monitoring, IDDE investigations, and existing conditions assessments of MH and pipe systems.
o Geotechnical Investigations including field tasks such as soil borings, monitoring well installation, and soil/groundwater sampling.
o Preparation of record drawings
o Potable Water sampling
· Work as part of a team of engineers, field technicians, and/or resident inspectors.
Required Qualifications:
· A High School Diploma plus 1-year relevant experience or college course work in related discipline, or an associate’s degree in civil engineering, Environmental Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
· CAD training, certification and/or experience is a plus.
· Ability to walk job sites, sometimes on uneven terrain and stand for extended periods. Ability to wear safety equipment.
· Ability to carry equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
· Up to date knowledge of computer and tablet operations and standard software packages tools including Microsoft Office.
· A valid driver’s license and personal smart phone are required.
· Bilingual is a plus.
