POSITION SUMMARY:
Ideal candidate will reside in ID, CA, TX, CO, SD or IA.
Reporting primarily to the Director of Ruminant Sales, Americas this position will lead Western US Ruminant business. This position will allocate it's effort in the following way: 40% of his/her time will be dedicated to developing, coaching and directing the Western US ruminant sales team, 30% of his/her time will be dedicated towards the support of key strategic accounts (Channel and Large Dairy), and 30% of his/her time will be spent on ‘corporate' activity and support of national projects/initiatives (such as launch of new products, quarterly push on brands… NitroShure/ReaShure, plans for marketing, sales plan development, and high impact activity across the NA Ruminant Market).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide direction and coaching to Balchem employees who are active inside the Western Region. Work with Ruminant Director to recruit and develop talent in ongoing basis, both with Balchem and Sedona. Team with Technical Services Specialist for optimum use within team and Region.
- Work to help deliver business unit's sales and profitability goals… provide feedback and support systems so that goals are visible and progress updated monthly.
- Channel audience who are National and Regional require guidance and plans to achieve high performance. Contracts and incentives, planning and feedback to the accounts that individual has responsibility for in the Region (HQ may be outside region).
- Larger dairies who are regional or national require attention beyond local RSS. Continue to develop programs, incentives and opportunity to link Balchem brands to the success of these groups.
- Nutritionist are key as well as some Veterinarians and other industry leads (banks, university, etc.). These groups may link to some channel opportunities. Provide plans and strategy to gain support of these groups.
- Salesforce CRM continued use, development and data utilization, efficient use of Excel.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures including use of safe driving and adherence to Balchem corporate policy. Smith System Certification may be an opportunity for the NA Ruminant team.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors degree
- 10 years' experience in Animal Nutrition/Health industry
- Comfortable with travel, role will require approx. 60% travel
