What You Will Be Doing As a OSP Inspector
- The OSP Inspector I will be responsible to ensure that all the client’s aerial and buried plant facilities meet the client’s current construction work standards through in progress inspections and follow up to ensure correction is work performed by construction vendors.
- The Inspector will document and communicate to construction vendor all failed inspections, audits, cable depths/location, clearances, pole transfers, bonding/grounding and all other safety and joint use requirements electronically or as specified by client and be expected to communicate via to vendor via personal communication email, and cellular phone.
- At times it may be necessary to document inspections, audits, and transfers manually by the use of printed spreadsheets. The inspector will ensure that all deviations are corrected by construction vendor and documentation provided to the client.
What you will bring to the table as a OSP Engineer
- The OSP Inspector II will be responsible to ensure that all the client’s underground, buried and aerial plant facilities meet the current standards through inspections, and corrections work performed by contractors.
- The Inspector will document all inspections, audits, and pole transfers electronically, and be expected to communicate via email, and cellular phone.
- At times it may be necessary to perform inspections, audits, and transfers manually by the use of printed spreadsheets. Familiarity in using mapping/GPS technology.
Required Skills/Experience:
- OSHA30 Construction
- Previous experience performing NESC inspections or experience working on an aerial cable line crew
- Previous experience performing wooden pole ground line inspections.
- Must be proficient in OSP Construction Standards
- Familiarity with the National Electric Safety Code.
- Computer experience:
- Microsoft Windows XP, Excel 2003 or newer and Outlook
- Experience with mapping tools such as Microsoft MapPoint 2009 or newer is preferred, but not required.
- Familiar and comfortable with internet usage, and web page browsing.
- Good communication skills.
- Personal time management and organization skills.
- Construction contractor management skills.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel on short notice.
