Title: Application Development Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a hands-on Application Management Lead in Indianapolis. This role is perfect for someone with experience managing both teams and applications, with a mix of hands-on development and leadership. The position requires strong technical leadership with a background in C# and Angular, and a willingness to support off-the-shelf applications like SAP and Dynamics Great Plains. The ideal candidate will have experience in ERP system support, team management, and business intelligence/data analytics.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Application Management (40% hands-on, 60% leadership).
- Provide hands-on development and technical leadership for custom-built applications.
- Lead a team of two developers while managing ongoing support and enhancements.
- Conduct code reviews and guide the technical direction of two core applications: a tablet-based logistics app built on C# and Angular, and a legacy internal JavaScript/jQuery app for company-wide information sharing.
- Manage maintenance, enhancements, and audits of these internal applications, ensuring smooth functionality and digitization across the company.
- Off-the-Shelf Application Support.
- Support SAP and Dynamics Great Plains applications, serving as the SME for these ERP systems.
- Collaborate with internal users and external consultants to optimize and extend application functionality.
- Act as a liaison with contracted SAP consultants and assist in long-term SAP rollout planning across multiple sites.
- Design and lead BI/data reporting initiatives, helping to shape the company’s long-term data strategy.
- Work with business leaders to execute data warehousing solutions and provide actionable insights.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong background in C#, Angular, JavaScript, jQuery, and web development for both front and backend systems.
- Experience in ERP systems, particularly SAP and Dynamics GP, with a track record of support and optimization.
- Familiarity with data warehousing, BI tools, and designing analytics solutions.
- Proven experience managing development teams and leading technical projects.
- Ability to collaborate with business stakeholders and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Comfortable with project leadership and managing application support efforts.
