Experienced HOSPITALITY Director of Facilities and Security is being sought by an incredible, one of a kind destination wellness resort property in Northern California. The ideal candidate is a compassionate, collaborative leader who enjoys developing talent and can offer a strong working knowledge of all areas of routine property maintenance.
SUMMARY
The Director of Engineering will have a high level of property maintenance knowledge. The
Director of Engineering will be responsible for maintaining the building and grounds with
particular attention towards safety, security and asset protection. Accountable for managing
budget, capital expenditure projects, preventative maintenance, and energy conservation with an emphasis on maintaining corporate standards and regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Job duties include, although are not limited to:
o Complete oversight of the maintenance department
o Coach and support the engineering leadership team to effectively manage controllable
expenses
o Hire, train, supervise, discipline and plan the activities of maintenance department personnel
o Plan and implement procedures, systems and controls to ensure an efficient maintenance
department
o Ensure the effective preventive maintenance schedules are followed
o Create and track departmental goals
o Develop and manage Engineering budget
o Ensure effective communication and good relations between the Engineering Department and
other departments in the hotel
o Perform any and all duties as assigned by the General Manager
QUALIFICATIONS
o Bachelor’s degree required
o Minimum of five (5) years’ experience actively serving in engineering management in a
hotel/resort environment
o Preferred Certifications: HVAC certification, EPA Universal certification, and CPO
certification
o Working knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, boilers, swimming pools and
spas required
o Working knowledge of methods & principles of engineering required
o Must be strategic and have strong business acumen
o Good communication and interpersonal skills
o Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint ,Outlook, and HotSOS
