About the position. One of Arizona's premier locally owned commercial contracting firms is seeking a dynamic Director of Business Development to elevate their market presence in Arizona and beyond. The ideal candidate will bring a robust network of existing relationships within the Phoenix Metro A/E/C industry, coupled with ambition and drive. They must be a self-starter who excels in a fast-paced environment and possesses exceptional client relationship-building skills. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Generate and prioritize new project opportunities with key departments
- Target and pursue leads aligned with company strategy
- Conduct sales activities and provide accurate weekly forecasts
- Update VP on market conditions and negotiate deals effectively
- Liaise between clients and internal departments
- Attend industry events and develop deep understanding of company offerings
- Implement strategies to secure new projects and assist with RFPs
- Demonstrate strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Qualify potential leads and opportunities for business development
- Maintain and expand relationships with existing clients
What you need. To effectively thrive in this organization, the Director of Business Development will have:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field; master's preferred
- 8+ years of successful A/E/C sales experience or equivalent in commercial brokerage/construction project management
- Proven track record in client acquisition and relationship management
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems (Dynamics 365 a plus)
- Self-motivated professional with strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously and deliver results
