Mechanical Design Engineer

Overview:
Our customer is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the team as an integral member of a team of government, military, and contractor personnel that provide program, engineering, and technical support.
Responsibilities & Duties:
This person will work closely with senior-level mechanical engineering staff and assist in the development of design documents including engineering reports, calculations and analysis, drawings, specifications, and engineer’s opinion of probable construction
Coordinating with other disciplines as well as other internal and external team members (e.g. vendors, clients, and contractors)
Develop, maintain, and/or modify system components' designs/proposals to provide installation and detail documentation
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university
Must have experience in aviation design
5+ years of applicable experience in a government or contractor setting
Must currently hold or be able to obtain a DoD security clearance at the secret level
Ability to travel 10% of the time
Desired Qualifications:
Experience in Solidworks is highly desired
Ability to work as part of a collaborative design team
Desire and ability to lead small technical teams solving challenging, multi-disciplinary design problems
