Coriell Institute for Medical Research is currently seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Biobanking team.
Under the direction of the Chief Biobanking Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for partnering with internal and external stakeholders to ensure biobanking contract and/or grant deliverables are met on time and on budget. Repository operational efforts include overseeing the growth of repository collections via recruitment, submitter and biospecimen submission management; overseeing biospecimen processing, quality control and storage; overseeing biospecimen distribution; all under Coriell’s quality management framework.
The ideal candidate for this role is a PhD (in an area related to human genetics, health and disease) with postdoctoral experience. Applicants with expertise in biorepository processes, human genetics, molecular biology, and genomics are preferred. We are primarily interested in meeting candidates with excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with scientists, project managers and other department leads to oversee repository operations. Strong management skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work collaboratively alongside senior management and external sponsors are vital for this role.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Manage federally sponsored awards, including delivering grant-related requirements, including preparation of progress reports and review of biorepository-related documentation
- Manage compliance in accordance with all sponsor regulations
- Oversee project management staff activities
- Manage scientific outreach activities and promotion of repository collections
- Manage internal and external reporting requirements
- Actively participate in Coriell strategic initiatives and task forces
- Submit external funding opportunity applications
- Adhere to internal standards, policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education:
- PhD in a field related to Human Genetics, Health and Disease
Experience:
- Postdoctoral experience (0-3 years)
