Our client performs civil infrastructure design and permitting support for a combination of municipal governments and private companies throughout the US. Our team is growing at a steady pace and needs a staff civil engineer in our Tucson, AZ or Phoenix, AZ office to continue to support future and ongoing contracts. Our office consists of several technical disciplines that provide services within the environmental, geotechnical, mechanical, civil, construction, and field services. The pay scale for this position is $75K to $90K based on qualifications and experience.

Your Role:
- Prepare site layout plans, grading plans, engineering cost estimates, and technical specifications.
- Attend design meetings and meet with clients during the design process through video conferencing and in-person meetings throughout Arizona.
- Opportunity to perform limited-duration field construction administration assignments throughout Arizona and other parts of the western US.
- Perform field construction support tasks by responding in a timely manner to construction field requests and performing occasional field inspections.
- Create and manage 3D surfaces to produce design drawings and volume calculations.
- Work on design teams to create design drawings for heavy civil infrastructure including mass and detailed grading, drainage, roads, tanks, pipelines, concrete structures using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Perform surface water hydrology and hydraulic studies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) and/or master’s degree (M.S.) in Civil Engineering or a closely related Engineering discipline.
- 0 to 4 years of experience.
- Computer knowledge in MS Office Suite.
- Ability to work in a team environment with local and remote team members.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently when managing multiple tasks.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- Experience in an engineering consulting firm or experience with preparing grading plans and details using AutoCAD Civil 3D is considered an asset.
