We have recently launched our Excess Casualty Program and are looking for top talent to join us in building this new product, by harnessing the power of innovative approaches. The Position
This position will support Wholesale brokers with placing Follow Form Excess Liability insurance coverage. Candidates will evaluate and analyze risks for acceptability based on underwriting guidelines and individual risk characteristics. Candidates will have extensive experience in their area of expertise and will have a strategic plan for building a book of business.This position will report to the Excess Underwriting Manager and be based in our Westlake, TX office or remote for qualified candidates. This position will have responsibility for:
- Building and maintaining strong collaborative relationships with agents/brokers
- Managing a profitable book of Excess Liability business including review of new business, renewal business, and mid-term endorsements
- Executing on deliverables for quoting/binding business based on Service Level Commitments
- Operating within a defined authority statement
- Exercising sound underwriting judgement as it relates to pricing, terms & conditions, applications, underlying schedules, etc.
- Working independently with limited support and sporadically referring business to Manager or SVP of underwriting
- Mentoring/developing junior level underwriters
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum 4-7 years insurance underwriting experience in retail, wholesale, and/or insurance company space.
- General Liability and Excess Liability experience
- Bachelor's degree and/or relevant industry designations/industry experience preferred
Salary – Commensurate with experience
