Responsibilities
As a Project Manager in our Land Development Department at WGA, you will provide oversight of projects while developing a team the WGA way. You will work with our clients and a team of engineers and technical support professionals to complete each task to be best in class. You will also:
- Lead team of engineers and other technical staff to successfully deliver single family development projects.
- Be respectful of client timelines through effective coordination of project tasks, budgets and schedules
- Participate in the development of company design and production standards to continue excellence within our technical expertise
- Be open to new ways of accomplishing goals
- Seek guidance from other leaders; be open to suggestions in various aspects of project management
- Applies diversified knowledge of principles / practices in broad areas of assignments.
- Makes decisions independently on problems and methods
- Engineering planning, analysis, design, estimating, contracting, project management, construction and delivery phases for Land Development
- Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates detailed phases of a major project
- Selects procedures and checks complete reports and calculations
- Develop understanding and follow WGA with QA/QC procedures and understands basic business practice and laws related to area of practice
- Building and maintaining relationships between project teams and collaborating to ensure that technical, quality, cost and client requirements are implemented
- Coordinating with outside sub-consultants
- Preparing a range of reports to communicate project information to team members, clients, and other stakeholders
- The candidate must have experience in handling multiple simultaneous projects, and a desire to work in a multi-disciplinary team
- Represents WGA in client and industry related conferences, organizations, and meetings.
- Develop trusting professional relationships with clients, public agency officials and community leaders
- Prepare proposals, scopes of work and contract cost estimates and requires an understanding of multi-disciplinary team coordination
- Lead and mentor junior members of WGA to provide best in class service.
Qualifications
- ±5 years of experience
- BS degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) designation in the State of Texas
- Civil design with a minimum of 2 years' experience managing a team and clients for the completion of single family, residential projects from conception to completion including estimating costs of technical tasks
- Extensive knowledge of design and construction practices which, by passing on that knowledge to others will aid in your success
- Proven experience and willingness to identify new opportunities with existing clients as well as having the confidence and ability to develop new client partnerships
- Proven ability to effectively and respectfully communicate, both oral and written skills, with all level of employees
- Proven ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, public agency officials and community leaders
