Duties
We are looking for a Sr. Specialty Underwriter to join our Management & Professional Liability (M&PL) team, in Plano, TX!
This key role will focus on new business production for private and nonprofit D&O/EPL with our retail agency partners. PHLY provides a great platform to continually grow and develop your underwriting knowledge, sales acumen, and distribution management skills while working with some of the best agents in the country. Great opportunity for an experienced Underwriter looking for company that provides autonomy, support and senior level authority, while working in a team environment.
A typical day will include the following:
- Determine acceptability, conditions, and pricing of accounts within PHLY appetite and authority level.
- Maintain and develop relationships with assigned agency partners
- Monitor loss experience and business conditions of key accounts
- Participate on a team of underwriters and other staff to meet the service needs of large multi-product customers.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge products and target markets in the management liability line of business segment.
- Market products to Agency partners within assigned territory. This role will also occasionally accompany PHLY Marketing Representatives
Qualifications
- Previous Private/Non profit D&O/EPL underwriting experience required
- Demonstrated marketing and agency development skills/experience required
- 5+ years D&O/EPL underwriting experience preferred
- Analytical, results-oriented and possess a strong sense of urgency
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
