About the Role
As the Manager of Operations, you will play a critical role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the delivery network. You will manage a team of delivery associates, optimize routes, maintain operational efficiency, and ensure exceptional customer service standards. This position requires leadership, problem-solving skills, and a strong focus on safety and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
Lead and manage a team of delivery drivers to meet daily delivery targets.
Ensure timely and accurate deliveries to customers by the company's high standards.
Develop and maintain efficient delivery routes to maximize productivity and minimize costs.
Implement and monitor KPIs to track performance and optimize daily operations.
Team Leadership & Development
Recruit, train, and onboard new delivery associates.
Foster a positive work environment, ensuring team morale and engagement.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and coaching to drive improvement.
Address any performance or disciplinary issues in a timely and professional manner.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure all delivery operations comply with company safety protocols and government regulations.
Promote a culture of safety among drivers and ensure all safety training is up-to-date.
Investigate and resolve any safety incidents or delivery issues.
Customer Satisfaction
Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by ensuring successful and on-time deliveries.
Resolve customer complaints or issues with professionalism and efficiency.
Liaise with company customer service teams to resolve escalated delivery issues.
Logistics & Fleet Management
Oversee the maintenance and repair of the vehicle fleet to ensure reliability.
Monitor vehicle performance, ensuring compliance with maintenance schedules and safety inspections.
Coordinate with third-party vendors for vehicle repairs or replacements as needed.
Data & Reporting
Analyze operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly reports on delivery performance and team productivity.
Utilize the company’s systems and tools for tracking deliveries and managing driver schedules.
Qualifications
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and logistics software.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally as needed.
Preferred Skills
Experience with operations or a similar delivery platform.
Familiarity with last-mile logistics operations.
Knowledge of fleet management and delivery route optimization.
Working Conditions
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
Work is primarily conducted in a warehouse or delivery station environment with occasional travel to various delivery sites.
