What your day will look like:
- Design and engineer mechanical systems and components for marine electric powertrains.
- Utilize SolidWorks for modeling and drafting components and systems for marine products.
- Possess a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, including design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA).
- Deliver products from concept to production, ensuring successful implementation.
- Perform predictive performance analysis using FEA, CFD, or other simulation tools.
- Participate in DFMEA/DVP&R activities to enhance product design and reliability.
- Support product testing and development, including creating and executing validation test plans.
- Assist in launch activities at the assembly plant, ensuring smooth product rollouts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (quality, manufacturing, sales, and engineering) to improve production processes and product design.
- Drive and support product validation on dynamometers, test benches, and open-water boat tests.
- Collaborate with the Purchasing department to identify and select suppliers and manufacturers.
- Understand the fundamentals of electric drives and the design of related systems and components
What we are looking for:
- 5-10 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Naval Engineering.
- Solid understanding of mechanical and/or electrical design principles.
- Proven proficiency in SolidWorks CAD design.
