Korn Ferry has partnered with our client in their search for a Senior Financial Analyst. The Senior Financial Analyst will be critical in aligning financial strategies with business objectives, providing financial insights, strategic analysis, and decision support. This position requires a deep understanding of financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, performance analysis, and sales compensation. This role is a strategic advisor to business leaders, ensuring financial data drives key business decisions. They function as a business partner to collaborate closely with the FP&A team to provide in-depth financial analysis, forecasts, and insights that support the organization's overall financial health and growth.
Responsibilities:
- Provide financial analysis and partner with the assigned business unit(s) to:
- Create and enter budgets/forecasts into the planning system, including capital expenditures, workforce planning, operating expenses, and revenue plans
- Manage expense accruals, management reporting, budget versus actual variance analysis, and actual versus prior year variance analysis
- Prepare account reconciliations relevant to the business unit(s) (i.e. accrued marketing expenses, etc.)
- Prepare and present results (top to bottom line of P&L) to assigned business unit(s), Finance, and executive leadership
- Proactive review and adjustments to forecast; understand and analyze the impact to important financial metrics
- Act as the primary financial advisor to business unit leaders, helping them understand the financial implications of business decisions
- Provide financial guidance and recommendations to drive business performance and achieve financial targets
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between financial plans and business strategies.
- Support the design and analysis of sales compensation plans to ensure alignment with business goals and sales strategies. Monitor and report on sales compensation metrics to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Participate in the annual and strategic planning process, providing financial expertise to shape long-term business strategies.
- Support the Corporate FP&A function in the consolidation and analytical review of the global Artivion actual versus forecasted results and operating plan, including but not limited to, preparing financial statements and corporate models (balance sheet, cash flow, P&L, etc), preparing presentations for finance management as well the operating team.
- Support scenario analysis to evaluate potential risks and opportunities associated with various strategic directions.
- Assist in the analysis and measurement of progress against strategic goals and regularly report on performance to senior management.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on performance analysis, helping teams make informed decisions throughout the year.
- Assist in evaluating new business opportunities, including mergers, acquisitions, and capital investments.
- Develop financial models to support business cases and strategic initiatives.
- Partner with Technical Accounting and Legal to analyze and influence complex contract proposals.
- Challenge and develop processes and methodologies that push for improvement to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of our reporting and analysis
- Provide ad hoc analyses and other project support to the assigned business unit(s) leadership teams (e.g., corporate scenario planning, IT and HR business planning, etc.).
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA and/or CPA preferred.
- 3-5 years of finance experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Communicates concisely and effectively through written and verbal communication.
- In-depth proficiency in accounting/finance and knowledge of US GAAP is required.
- In-depth knowledge of Planning and ERP systems. SAP experience a plus
- In-depth knowledge of Business Intelligence is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including demonstrated experience using Excel to build and maintain complex financial models and perform financial and data analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights. Ability to interpret high-level questions into actionable, data-driven insights.
- Ability to solve complex problems through solution-oriented analysis and cost-effective solutions.
- Comfortable working with very sensitive data and maintaining a high degree of discretion.
- Superior attention to detail and ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a view of the big picture.
