Our client is looking for a dynamic individual to lead their Environmental Services Department. This role provides a unique opportunity to oversee essential services such as waste management, water conservation, and pollution control, all while making a significant impact on the well-being of a vibrant, forward-thinking community.
Key responsibilities for this role will include (but are not limited to):
• Oversee operations of waste collection, recycling programs, and water quality management.
• Lead strategic planning efforts to align environmental goals with community growth and sustainability.
• Manage a large budget and direct financial resources towards key environmental initiatives.
• Collaborate with local and regional partners to address environmental challenges and improve service delivery.
• Drive initiatives to reduce environmental impact, including programs focused on reducing pollution and advancing sustainable practices.
• Engage with community stakeholders to ensure the alignment of environmental services with public needs.
Required and desired skillsets, experience, and qualifications for this role:
• Leadership experience in environmental services or related fields.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability practices.
• Experience managing projects and budgets.
• Ability to create and implement environmental strategies.
• Strong commitment to public service and community impact.
• Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create excel trackers, and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
