Lead Systems Engineer
Job Description:
We are seeking a knowledgeable, proactive and self-driven Lead Systems Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with all or some technologies including Cisco networking and servers, Pure Storage and Dell storage solutions, VMware virtualization, as well as Windows and Linux operating systems. This individual will be responsible for managing and supporting our IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability of our systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco routers, switches, and servers.
- Monitor network performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to maintain network uptime.
- Manage and support Pure Storage and Dell storage environments, including provisioning, monitoring, and optimizing storage resources.
- Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity.
- Administer VMware environments, including virtual machine deployment, resource allocation, and performance tuning.
- Troubleshoot virtualization issues and optimize virtual infrastructure for performance.
- Maintain and support Windows and Linux servers, including installation, configuration, and patch management.
- Monitor system performance and perform necessary upgrades and optimizations.
- Implement and maintain security best practices across all environments to safeguard against threats and vulnerabilities.
- Participate in security audits and compliance activities, ensuring adherence to standards.
- Provide technical support to end-users and internal teams, resolving issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
- Document troubleshooting processes and maintain support documentation.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their IT needs and provide appropriate solutions.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to IT strategy discussions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience as an IT Administrator or similar role, with a focus on Cisco, Pure Storage, Dell storage, VMware, Windows, and Linux.
- Certifications such as CCNA, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or other relevant credentials are a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
