Stolfus & Associates, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Engineering Summer Intern with completion of two years towards Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an A.B.E.T. Accredited school for our Greenwood Village, CO office. This position is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated, curious, and highly skilled student who wishes to experience transportation engineering firsthand.
The successful candidate will receive in-depth learning about a variety of transportation projects throughout Colorado.
- Designs transportation facilities including interstate highways, interchanges, urban and rural roadways, intersections, and multimodal facilities
- Prepares studies, reports, plans, and construction packages for a wide variety of transportation projects.
- Position requires ability to exercise initiative, judgment and knowledge as required in areas of responsibility.
- Prepares working drawings, details, layouts, quantity calculations, geometric evaluations, and work products.
- Receives close supervision on new aspects of assignments as required.
- May be assisted by other student interns or EITs.
- May coordinate with the work of others for specific assignments.
- Meets expectations for attendance and punctuality.
- Performs field observation work when necessary.
- Some travel may be required.
Requirements:
- Completion of two years towards Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an A.B.E.T. Accredited school.
- Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office products
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to summarize technical information into accessible forms.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills
- A desire to grow personally and professionally while working in a team environment to make Colorado’s transportation system safer and improve quality of life for users while meeting our client’s needs.
- This position requires the ability to sit/stand for extended periods at a computer workstation. Occasional travel to client facilities and project sites require ability to climb ladders, inspect and be physically mobile in and around client construction sites.

Base pay range for transportation engineering student intern position with 2-3 years of work towards a civil engineering degree: $24/hour to $26/hour.
