The New York City Office of a well-known Law Firm has an opening for a Practice Manager who will support the Trial Attorneys with maintaining client satisfaction, streamlining practices and ensuring efficiency. The Practice Manager will focus on professional development and workload management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with Attorney Development in regards to attorney performance
- Be part of associate evaluation process
- Collaborate with Attorney Development to facilitate, review and update formal training programs including identification and recruitment of instructors
- Collaborate with the Attorney Development on Mentor, Advisor and Sponsor Pairings for all Associates.
- Identify topics for and coordinate execution of Litigation Associate Lunch 'n Learn Series.
- Identify and facilitate external professional development opportunities (i.e., conferences, Bar offerings, etc.) for the Section.
- Advise associates on Professional Development Plans
- Collaborate with appropriate departments in connection with associate accolade submissions
- Allocation of workflow and assignments
- Work with group on high level and strategic initiatives for the group
- Assess hiring needs as well as manage the resignation/exit interview process
- Business intelligence
- Work with Practice Manager peers across other practice areas
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; J.D. strongly preferred
- At least 5 years of experience working in a Law Firm in the capacity of: Practice Manager, Professional Development and/or Human Resources
- Attention to detail, ability to work with several different lines of business at once
- Ability to keep matters confidential and use discretion when required

Desired Skills and Experience
At least 5 years of experience at a large law firm working as a Practice Manager, in professional development or HR. JD highly preferred.
