Contract Type: Contract to Hire
Location: Billings Clinic Hospital, Billings, MT
Schedule: 5 days onsite, with flexible start times between 6 AM and 9 AM.
Relocation Package: A $5,000 relocation package is available for non-local candidates from surrounding states (e.g., Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska).
Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Supply Chain Assistant to join our team at Billings Clinic Hospital in Billings, MT. In this role, you will play an essential part in improving supply chain operations, focusing on inventory management and process optimization within the hospital’s operating room (OR). Reporting to the Vice President of Consulting Services, the position involves conducting financial and operational analyses, data collection, and problem-solving to drive effective decision-making. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement meaningful improvements in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supply Chain Analysis: Perform comprehensive analyses of healthcare supply chain operations, identifying cost-saving opportunities and efficiencies.
- Inventory Optimization: Lead efforts to redesign and improve inventory processes within the OR, focusing on operational efficiency and control.
- Data-Driven Reporting: Use advanced Excel functions (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs) and other tools to create detailed reports and actionable insights for clients and internal stakeholders.
- Project Management: Support the full project lifecycle, from initial assessments to implementation, ensuring scope, budget, and timeline adherence.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teams in logistics, purchasing, and finance to develop innovative solutions for operational challenges.
- Client Communication: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing regular project updates and addressing issues proactively.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends in healthcare supply chain management to deliver innovative solutions.
Required Skills:
- Strong expertise in inventory management, particularly within healthcare, with a focus on hospital OR supply chains.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project), with advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs).
- Knowledge of Lawson or similar inventory management systems (Infor experience is a plus).
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to present data effectively to various audiences.
- Experience in process improvement methodologies and operational transformation.
Experience:
- 1-2 years of relevant experience, ideally in healthcare supply chain management or related fields.
- Familiarity with hospital OR inventory management (e.g., OR coordinator, OR inventory specialist) is highly desirable.
- Recent graduates with relevant healthcare internships are welcome to apply.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in healthcare inventory management within the OR.
- Knowledge of Cerner and Lawson systems.
- Understanding of healthcare regulations and patient safety protocols related to inventory management.
